he group is accepting donations and has raised more than $10,000 already. It seems like a good idea because many people have concerns about what Broad/Gates etc have done in their districts, but individually are too small to even get a response from the corporate reformers.

What I most respect about Ravitch is that she altered her opinion and thinking and she said so out loud. It is hard to ignore her voice in the education debates.

As a non-educator but as a parent/consumer of several types of education by source (Catholic, charter, public) our best hope is in refining what we know to be public.

Wow, with all this action with Pittsburgh Police, I wonder what would have happened to Nate Harper if he were found guilty of...ummm...conducting a traffic stop.

Post Gazette is reporting an extension coming for Linda Lane. Shouldn't the new Board decide this?

No, the current lame duck members should push this through now or else risk waiting until the next round of disappointing test schools are released this summer.

Is there any legal recourse in this situation?

Once the contract is approved next Wednesday by the current Board, is there any way to cancel the new contract before January, 2014 when the old contract ends?

Does the new Board (elected next November) have any recourse?
