Charter proposals rejected

The board of Pittsburgh Public Schools tonight rejected three charter school proposals.
The three proposals were Homewood Children's Village Collegiate Charter School, Provident Charter School for Children with Dyslexia and Robert L. Vann Charter School.

And we have 4 principals retiring and 1 resigning (34 retirements - mostly teachers)

And the Board is going paperless - agendas, minutes, starting next month - view online.

What about the expansion of the charter for environmental into high school grades? Where does that reside in the process?

And also at last night's meeting, the vote for SESI's contract to run Clayton for another year was removed from the agenda. After the meeting, Lane said,"some things I have to look into." She declined to elaborate. I wonder what this is all about?

Looking into things, hummmm. Isn't that called doing one's job?

The SESI/Clayton item has been on the table for quite a while. Why when it is ready for a vote, would Lane decide to look into some things? Dara Ware Allen wanted this voted on at the last Board meeting. It just seems strange.
