All I got to say on this matter you never hear about STUDENTS from CAPA going to Shuman Center I think it is a great shame to hear about a PREP student being sent to Shuman Center if that's the case lets just put a added space for Shuman Center in PPS administrated building !!!!!!!!!!
Actually we never hear about ANY students going to shuman because everything is covered up. I teach right down the street from u prep and many of my students have older siblings at U prep. The only reason I know about this incident is from this blog. I wonder how many PPS students are taken to shuman. A while back, a CAPA student lit a bathroom on fire. Maybe like 6 or 7 years ago. I only heard about that because a CAPA teacher went to my gym. The fact is, PPS covers up what the kids do so we really don't know. These types of incidents are front page news when they happen in suburban schools.
7:48, where have you been. PPS schools have had school based probation officers in some buildings for years now.
8:41, just take a look at who was the principal at CAPA 7 or 8 years ago. Nothing at that school would ever made it to the news. Two years ago, a CAPA teacher was assaulted in the alley behind the building. If that happened on her watch, she would have kept it out of the news if she could. She also would have blamed him (the teacher) for doing something to cause his attack. Glad she is gone!
Yesturday a bomb threat at uprep and today a teacher assaulted and a child got her front teeth head butted out.
A student female senior was caught with a knife. She was charged with a weapon charge and Mr. Hardy did not suspend her. If he did it was only on paper. She was allowed to return to school the very next day!
Mr. Hardy is changing grades without the teachers permission to look good!
Is it a small scene Atlanta? Integrity is in short supply at the school. Administrators, teachers and consultants that can't cut it need to be gone so these kids have a chance.
My thoughts about integrity exactly. In the past, integrity was rarely questioned. All that changed when there began to be "good reasons" for shading the truth, hiding information, bringing on PR tactics.

The child was sent to Shuman? Phew, he is safe there.
A student blocked a teacher at U PREP and put his hands on her and Hardy is letting him go to prom.

The security guard said the same thing to my daughter. She said every morning when she comes to the metal detector he states that he is her daddy and he @@@@@@ her mother.
