It is interesting how many of the things sci tech is praised for were also true for Schenley and Frick; it is just that far fewer students get to enjoy them now.

it is great that the parent and student had such a positive experience so far. i have been impressed with the few sci-tech students who have crossed my path including the one i spoke to yesterday while working the polls in the southern part of the city. the "buy-in" is so important with any school. if the majority of the kids and parents at sci-tech embrace that they are part of something special they promote the idea to others and the general public. four years anywhere is a long time and it is likely a kid won't be happy every day at any school. likely too that every parent won't be happy every day either.
