Even at a quick glance, the omissions from the site are obvious! I am outraged that the history section and the alumni section so deliberately omit any mention of Schenley High School. I can understand the need to move forward, but to try to revise history is an insult to the students, teacher, parents, and alumni that have supported the IB for 25+ years.
A large part of the success of the IB to date has been the location, tradition, spirit and building environment offered by the Schenley setting. While it is hoped that the program can be transplanted elsewhere, give credit where credit is due.
People seem to assume that the MYP is all set up, but a former teacher from Frick emailed in to PURE that the application process has been going on for quite a while- not clear what is causing it to stall, or if they can just go ahead and offer courses but just not use the label of an "IB School" or what. He also felt that the MYP itself was more of a shell than a complete program so maybe it won't make much difference either way.
Too strange the leaving off of Schenley name initially. This is Pittsburgh where even relative newcomers learn to refer to things as "where _____ used to be."
Were they planning to delete Frick as a middle school from the bios next year to avoid confusion as well?

In general the site seems to present information rather selectively.
Has the official word on the middle years program happened yet?
They portray it as official there, but I'd have thought they'd make a big announcement when it happened. Does anyone know if it's official ?
