Well we are having conversation about security officers first thing lets go back and define their DESCRIPTION what are their duties while in the schools right now there seems to be a problem what they are suppose to do when in school buildings meaning should be job evaluations as security officers if not doing what suppose to do let's
Disqualify them simple as until we can fine people who can work as security officers instead collecting pay checks
Thought I throw that out there folks that's on my mind!!!!!

Glad you have so much on your mind. The Titanic is sinking and we are re-arranging the deck chairs while the band plays on. I will admit some security seem useless. But let me tell you. When things go horribly wrong in your room. Or one of your co-workers is having a problem in the halls. There is no more welcome sight than that security guard. They are un appreciated by many. Only when they are needed do some of us care they even exist.
How many times have you just walked by one and not even said good morning?

Remembering that a 5th grader can be every bit as disruptive as a 6th grader, many elementary teachers wish they had security. Much respect for people who do a rough job in many schools.

Security Officers make pennies in these schools for what they do! They are so under paid! The School Police are absolutely useless in the schools. You have one Security Officer by themselves in McNaugher and all Middle Schools!? Are they out of their mines stressing these guards out to the max for what they pay them! Half of the School Police have never passed the test in Harrisburg to become certified Police Officers and they make more than Security Officers!? We have an Assistant Chief that failed the commander test and another Officer passed it and because of politics he is now the Assistant Chief that is terrible at reprimanding. The High Schools need their Security Officer back badly! Why would you do that!? That was just dumb! 32,000 a year for being the one that gets the entire school under control because the principals are horrible! The Security get hurt, spit on, sworn at, and deal with tons of stress related days and situations! The good Officers that have a brain are leaving because they are not appreciated as they should be at all even by the Assistant Chief! The district is a hot mess because they pay people that do nothing higher paid salaries! The reality is that they need to realize that these schools would be out of control without Security. The Police Officer complain daily like babies about being in the schools! The Security Officers are treated PATHETIC! It is so sad!

Security in schools make $32,000

Police not certified make $45,000 out of schools.

DO YOU SEE A PROBLEM?

13,000 difference and they handle the kids after the situation is under control. 95 percent of the time Police deal with nothing!

Lets see if the Police get another raise? Lets see if Security in these schools get another raise. Wait lets see the Police are not like City Police! The School Police come to a call after the Security Officer's handle the entire situation. Does the Police get spit on, hit daily, sworn at, out of control kids to handle? No they do not! The Security are way over due for a raise. I do not see the Chiefs or Commander fighting for Security to get a raise just the Police. This in unjust! Their are School Police that are not certified in Harrisburg! The Police cry about being in the schools! They even took Security out of High Schools. That was just stupid! Down sizing security for a rent a police. They Police treat Security like nothing. When in reality they do nothing!

New Post Please

The Police have received a raise from the PPS. Why haven't the Security Officers received a raise yet?

That is terrible that the Security only make $32,000! I know first hand how much Security have to deal with! Shame on the PPS!

It was always that the person hired for the chief of police had to have a college degree. Now suddenly they have changed it to they no longer need a degree. So this means no matter how many people apply they already know who they want from politics! Unfair again! So the person really was not qualified and the PPS changed it! Poor choice as always!

Why does the position for the Chief of Police no longer need to have a college degree?

The Assistant Chief does not have a degree (politics) just like he never passed the Commander test and was given a Commander position when another Officer Mark Williams passed the test! Politics has done nothing but destroyed the PPS!
