A+ Schools is already trying to influence school board election. Watch out... this is the beginning of their attempt to overthrow the school board.

Based on A+'s letter it may seem that A+ is merely providing information and encouraging participation in the election. It will be interesting to see if it favors certain candidates.

So A+ might be trying to influence the School Board elections. Who cares?

I had great hope that the current Board was going to chance things around. I really did! My hopes were dashed. I've seen no bold new initiatives. Nothing about restoring order to the classrooms. Nothing about bringing the old trades programs back. And then the Board went and hired Anthony Hamlet. He's just Linda Lane, part 2. Except that Lane did not lie on her resume. Hamlet did.

So now I've gotten to the point that I think who's on the Board doesn't really matter. The ship is not just damaged. It is sinking.

Well A+ schools is in cahoots with Cate Reed and her new super PAC to overturn the board and it could get A LOT worse. Reed is still obsessed with getting TFA into PPS. Imagine how much worse it would be if in addition to all of the other problems, the teachers are replaced with temps who don't even have teaching degrees or experience. The expertise and experience of the teachers is the ONLY thing keeping the whole ship from sinking.

agree totally with 11:46, TFA like most crazed ed ideas - lines pockets of people who could care less about education-- watch for her to push for appointed school board too--Pgh got rid of it before- but with who is in charge of Fed/ education...

The PSCC/A+ Schools meeting at UPREP on Thursday night was not well attended. The information that was shared at the meeting was very valuable.

A+ Schools learned a lot about how to be an asset to PPS. There are many many, resources available from PDE (no charge and open access) that teachers, students, parents, community can use to advance "proficiency" for ALL students at UPREP.
