Step increases

"New post: Step increases will be halted. Did anyone read the email from Nina Esposito saying that she "just emailed" Hamlet about whether or not step increases will occur? Did you read her latest ingratiating email proclaiming" You did it"? Did you read in the latter email where she states that the "district can freeze people at their step placements"? Is she that inept and desperate to write something like that regarding our lives? Of course Hamlet is freezing step placements. Where do you think he's getting the money to hire all of these new positions for his flunkies? This is just the beginning my friends. This is what those who voted her in deserve: nothing but the worst. Esposito claims that healthcare will remain the same in status quo, but before that bold print of hers, she states that she along with entourage will be discussing healthcare next week with Hamlet. When are we going to protest this union, strike, and get our union leaders(sad)-who everyone knows work for the district- and get them back into the classroom to experience the walk-throughs, the data, the van, the meetings, the behaved students, the parents of these students, the circles, and the tripod? "

Vote it down. It's time to strike, she won't stand up for us.

I didn't see these emails and I get Nina's Notes sent to my home email. Can you please post the emails? It is seriously time for a strike if she is not willing to stand up to the board and Hamlet. They keep expecting us to do more for less.

I think the van comment is so funny. Everyone knows it is VAM, not VAN, VAN stands for VALUED ADDED NOTHINGS in our school. Can someone get Esposito's infamous Nina's Notes" email(that end up in our Spam folders)regarding step increases? The only people who do not want a strike are Esposito, Hellman, and Grant. Can every union member stop and think for ten seconds about the three names mentioned. THEY ARE IN CHARGE OF OUR CAREERS. If that does not freighter you beyond horrific nothing will.

Watch how this blog fills up after teachers find out that their pay is frozen with no retroactive pay, but the worst thing that will happen is if the union, for a lack of a better word, leaders, sign a one-year contract with step increases- then watch what ensues. Last, has the reduction/furlough conversation been discussed yet? I heard it will be 10-20%.

There was a time when contracts expired and we worked under status quo, with the terms of the previous contract. There were no raises for folks above step 10. There were however, increases on the steps because they were already in place.
At one point, the board wanted to give us steps and increase the cost of our healthcare. They could not do it because it would have violated the status quo agreement.
If you think teachers will revolt, strike, or vote the current leadership out. Forget it, will never happen. History tells us we were, are and always will be our own enemy. I was present for the big vote fraud at Soldiers and Sailors Hall. The contract was voted down. The union had already voted to authorize a strike.
Tarka threw out the vote and had a mail in ballot. Seems we were cheating the Jewish teachers by having the meeting on a Friday, after sunset. A devout Jewish person would be at home observing the Sabbath. Of course the mail in got the results Tarka and company wanted.
No pay day for August? I just went to pps web page and looked at the calendar for next year. Hover over September 15 and October 13. They are the only days listed as a teacher PD. Only one pay a month now? I have missed a lot.
Good luck and best wishes to you all. Have a safe summer, enjoy your loved ones, get rested.

Well said- the teachers in this district, about 90% are gutless, selfish, and delusional, that is until they get that big, fat "U". The rested part of your message is horrifying because it is a foreshadowing of so-called school to begin in August.

7:03 I can't answer the pay date question but 9/15 and 10/13 are half day professional development days, frequently referred to as "PD" days. The bulk of the payroll system is built around paying 10 month employees semi monthly. I can't see that changing quickly or easily or without some noise.

Thank you 9:54 for clearing that up. I guess I am reflecting too far back. I still remember twice a month, every other Friday. Sooner before winter break, Later on the spring break. Then twice a month on the 15th and 30th regardless the day of week, holiday or not.

Those that say don't get old really mean don't loose your memory!

Twice a month does not mean anything; what matters is how much you get on those pay days twice a month; if you quit on 9/15, would you expect 9 days of pay or 18? Please, stop talking nonsense; if you work it, you earned it; of course we will not get paid on 8/31 because the district(in partnership with out union) is siphoning money via wage theft. Ask yourselves this question. If "I" used up all but three sick days before going on unpaid leave, how much would your last paycheck be? Let me save you the trouble. It would be for three days(salary/192 x 3). That is your pay. The district and the union are GUILTY OF WAGE THEFT BY DECEPTION BY NOT PAYING SABBATICAL TEACHERS THEIR EARNINGS ON 8/31. Again, why? The district and the union want to pay teachers at half pay(sabbatical rate) in JUNE rather than at full rate in SEPTEMBER. AGAIN, THIS THEFT APPLIES TO ANY SABBATICAL TEACHER GOING ON SABBATICAL AFTER THE FIRST PAY IN SEPTEMBER. If you do not have the knowledge, the intelligence, or the mathematical prowess to speak on here about pay, please do not talk about how many times we get paid. You sound like Harold Grant. Our salary is divided(/) by 192 and that is our daily rate, period. To tell you how serious this is, Nina Esposito hired her attorney to defend her at a meeting with a union member on sabbatical; did you here what I said. Nina spent our union dues on our union member to protect her. The meeting was held at the union on 5/17. Call the union and find out if this is true or not. Nina Esposito says to call in her infamous spam emails under "Nina's Notes".

Is anyone listening to what Thomas Paine is saying; first, Paine is a distinguished teacher making over $90,000 a year. Unlike the gutless rabble who only care only about their pathetic pay, Paine cares about everyone, especially himself. Paine is going public with his findings: misrepresentation by the union, intimidation by the union, breach of fund allocation by the union; disclosure of personal information by the union, betrayal by the union, and wage theft against the union and the district. Listen to Paine. The district is stealing and has stolen money for years from sabbatical teachers who begin their sabbatical during the year; that is why teachers do not get paid on 8/31; yes, we know that the district likes holding our pay to make interest on it for ten months; that is easy theft. That is easy, but finding out how and why the union and the district rescinded their original formal message of teachers being paid in August has been found out by THOMAS PAINE. Email him, but if you are a sycophantic, ingratiating member of the union or some district flunky who is bragging to supervisors that you posted on here or emailed Paine, I wouldn't do that, unless you are prepared to stake your reputation on it.-Thomas Paine
