Ha. Has PPS become a yoga class? If so I'm all for 'downward-facing dog'. It's rejuvenating and there's no hiding in how to achieve the pose."

In keeping with the metaphor perhaps the school board should 'shavasana' in an effort to be transparent and clear headed. Lord knows "proficient" is a much lower bar to meet than "transformative".

Of course the Pittsburgh Post Gazette would find Superintendent Hamlet to be proficient. It is politically incorrect to criticize any PPS superintendent - be it Roosevelt, Lane, Hamlet, whomever.

Let 100 flowers blossom! And please ignore the PPS's chaotic classrooms, the fights in the hallways, and the falling test scores.

Who is leading who?

The PG has no problem criticizing a super, as long as the super wasn't the choice of the foundations. Note the end of the article- EVERY TIME the PG writes about Hamlet it has to mention the resume flap, even a year later. Ridiculous.
