From another post:
"I like the recommendation of creating a list of all the over 100K administrators at BOE and attaching a chart of their titles and "ranks."
Add to this a list of consultant contracts over the past x years, with type of work and cost.
Present these findings with at least 20 people present supporting the speakers at a board hearing, giving the list and a press release out beforehand in hopes of getting it covered on the TV news and in the paper.
That would be a start, then letters to the editor so as to get the word out. People here making some copies of these lists and talking them over with friends, neighbors, parents at sporting events, parents you know from your kid's school.
MOST PEOPLE in Pittsburgh have no clue at all about the insanity of the numbers of administrators, the use of contractors, let alone the curriculum and all.

Can we get 20 people who will participate? For now you don't have to give your name- just post
"I will be participant 1" "I will be participant 2" (don't worry you will not have to speak in that order, just keeping count). It is difficult to get people to actually show up. Some cannot risk jobs.

July 25th looks to be the next public hearing.
I could be there and probably drag at least one to three more adults to attend. So, count me as 1-3 people!

OK we have Participants 1-3, do we have a 4?
I will help. count me in
Looking for a 5- who out there is disturbed by skyrocketing numbers in central administration?
I would be number 5 but I will be out of town. I will volunteer to write testimony if some one else could present.
Going, going...
I can't due to the risk factor of a family member.
Getting 20 people now for an end of July event is not NEEDED.
The going going part can sustain itself for some weeks. Citizens don't rush often, unlike highly paid staffers. Same too with undo pressure. The brink is here, but this is still a marathon.
I do like the idea of generating such a list. And don't only put the highest paid consultants there. Rank em, but list them all.
Due respect to 6:14; we understand! However, I have NEVER, ever seen the type of fear of penalty for speaking the truth in PPS. Heaven above, what have we come to under Roosevelt regime continued.
There does need to be a widely publicized expose (beginning with The WAA reports) of the use of taxpayer in PPS. It seems that students are NEVER even mentioned in specific terms that will provide QUALITY and EQUITY of EDUCATION.
Saving money to pay the expanding cadre of administrators, consultants and Broad/Gates people is the PPS is the agenda.
I can be the 5th.
Is it true that there was an offsite retreat at Seven Springs for Westinghouse staff?
YES, a two day retreat.
We have heard the cost is $30k. It's hard to see how a retreat for only 2 days could cost $30k.
But as this post shows, few people are willing to speak up about about these issues.
Duh, don't you people know anything? Education is supposed to be run like a business, evidence the fact that there are non-educators entering the field, and everybody knows these retreats in the corporate world are usually held in Palm Springs and require air fare, for crying out loud!!
But air fare to 7 springs?
I assume 8:46 was being sarcastic. Did the entire Westinghouse staff participate? Teachers and staff? I could see this running thirty grand for two days. While I get the concept of wnting Westinghouse folks to bond over this new and controversial program, yeesh! In this time of job cuts it seems so excessive. So I bet someone out there will say this money was provided by a foundation and could not have been used for other purposes. Like a $30,000/year job. Just sayin.
