Is the Education Meeting at Faison open to the district? It is not listed on the District Calendar? Who is holding the meeting and what is the topic under consideration?

Please give as much information as possible so that those with interest can attend with a purpose. Thanks in advance.

Hopefully, parents in PPS will have received their individual student's PSSA scaled scores which range generally from 1000 to 1600 on each of the PSSA tests (Reading, Math, Science)

These scores were sent by PDE and DRC to every District in Pennsylvania by June 10, 2011. (They can be accessed online only with a Password).

Parent letters were also sent with every students individual scores. Using the "cut scores" parents will be able to assess whether their child's scores are Below Basic, Basic, Proficient, or Advanced and exactly where on that continuum their child is achieving. PPS said that it is in the process of sending or distributing the parent letters with each child's "scaled score" on each of the PSSA tests and should be in parent's hands by June 22nd.

Parents are encouraged to call the school if they do not receive their child's PSSA scores by June 22nd.

Schools across the state of Pennsylvania have been accessing and using this scores to plan since they were available online on Thursday, June 9, 2011. (I worked, personally, with a consultant who had access to these scores last Thursday and was using them to plan for a Western PA school district, in substantive detail, for the coming school year, 2011-2012.)

Shootings? Hey, it's all the fault of teachers, right?

I understand that Alvin Gipson, the new principal for Faison, has already resigned and taken a job outside of he district. Can anyone confirm this?
