Gay students do not feel safe in PA schools

From today's PPG:

http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/09106/963344-100.stm

No information in the article on Pittsburgh schools, but there have been comments at public hearings that gay students have felt comfortable at for example Schenley.

Eleanor Chute of the P-G is great at reporting after taken the hook, line and sinker.

Would love to see the peer review for the research.

Oh wait, ... did I just bully a women and member of the Mainstream Media?

I have clumsily tried to express myself on the topic of diversity specific to gay, goth, religious, or just plain different students, several times at meetings. Perhaps articles like this one will go a long way in getting people thinking outside their own concerns. I have never gotten the impression from any PPS student that gays are not safe in our schools, just the opposite, if anything. Perhaps PPS students are more sophisticated than others think.
