The discussion during the legislative meeting on this topic was very brief. It seems addressing it during the contract negotiations was an oversight.

Apparently nobody considered the tax implications.

It sounds like this is not term life insurance but more like life insurance as an investment/ compensation. You have to expect to pay taxes on compensation.

The guy is worth every penny. Maybe we an pass the hat and buy him a car. Better yet, buy him a house. You taxpayers think he is doing such a wonderful job, I'm sure that your elected school board members will agree in short order, in between their chores down at the beauty parlor or after cleaning the house.

When is enough, enough? This guy is a leach, what has he really done, besides getting paid. He is nothing but a highly paid PR guy.

Hmmm. They surely stuck the Barack Obama High down there at the bottom of an unrelated article, eh?

This is almost unbelievable,

Our School, Our Children, Could use the money more than this greedy little man.

In a school district with no money

Our school has nothing?
All this grant money? Our school is still the same, 4 grandkids the last 13 years , there are less teachers, less school/ community events, a few new Principals

For Shame, Shame on you Mr. Rosevelt

Angry Grandparent

I have to realistic here. It is possible that the corporate and foundation communities are supportive of the schools ONLY because we have this superintendent.

That may be, but it is unclear WHY the foundation and corporate communities are so supportive.

ALA's? CEP? Constantly changing grade configurations? The Kaplan curriculum? U Prep? 8 of 38 EFA goals met? Enrollment that drops each year?

Further, catering to foundations and corporations would be one thing if foundations and corporations were the main source of support for our public education system. However, the yearly PPS budget of over $500 million far exceeds any donation a corporation or foundation will make to the school district. Put the decisionmaking back with the people, where it belongs.

I hear you loud and clear, but I can not explain it.

Where superintendents, school board members, corporate execs and the like are concerned, I have to wonder what wheeling and dealing goes on away from public view.
Here is a man and a group of like minded board members who have scuttled the district. I have to wonder why. What is it that we don't know?

Lots.
