Question: Why are PPS renovations so much more expensive? $8 million was often quoted as the cost of a new gym for miller. Something like $15 was spent to make Milliones middle school into a 6-12 school, and another $15 million to make Frick middle school into a 6-12 school.

Until I read the PG today I was unaware of the Imani history. I hadn't heard about it until discussions began about the school purchasing East Hills and Dr. Barnett being highly involved at the school after her retirement from PPS. Does anyone know any Imani grads, what and how they are doing?

I attend several high school musicals every year and at times I have noted programs with tributes to a student in the performance from his/her church or youth group or choir. Others have shot me down when I suggest a faith-filled background produces a motived student. At times the people shooting down my observation have been the classmates of the student performers. Am I all wet or what?

East Hills already had a gym and cafeteria. Only minor repairs were probably needed.

As the parent of a highly motivated child, I suggest that a supportive homelife that values education results in a motivated student. A faith-filled background may produce a motivated child, but this was not the case in our household.

The PG article referred to a new gym and new cafeteria. It could be that these facilities were old, or not suitable for students through high school age.

In the P-G video that showed the gym and the cafeteria, both looked exactly the same as when my child went to school there.

Anonymous 3:07, it would be great to hear more from you. Many parents are in the timeframe where decision must be made. Magnet letters were just generated and paperwork is due for charters under consideration.
