Dr. Faison made a huge imprint on the hearts of many with her wisdom and grace and service.

Dr. Faison was old-school. She respected teachers, and teachers respected her. I was always happy to see her in the hallways of my school. And I and was always happy when she entered my classroom to observe.

A couple of years after she retired, I saw her at Kennywood Park. I just had to go up to her and say hello. I'm sure she didn't remember me. I was just one teacher out of the thousands she had met in the PPS. But she was very gracious, and we had a nice little chat. Dr. Faison was a nice person. She will be missed.

She was a class act. She treated us all with respect and dignity. It didn't matter who you were, what you taught. I only wish I knew her as a fellow faculty member rather than a Deputy Superintendent. I am sure she would have had a ton of what to do's and how to do's. Something lacking in teacher education, teacher induction, and in services today. May she rest in peace.

Hard pressed to point to someone who has followed in her footsteps. Dr. Faison could blunt the sharpness, soften the glare and untangle the knot whenever and wherever needed. She has been missed. It is actually an inspiration to remember her.
