I have three to five more years of teaching and can only say, Thank God. In ten years time, corporate interests will completely have taken over education, indoctrinating children, obfuscating the truth and manipulating assessment numbers.
"Teachers" won't even have to be certified.
And no one cares.
It's like a speeding locomotive going of of the tracks.
Parents, do your kids a favor and tell them to go into anything but education.
I say this as educator who loves children. Some of the greatest moments in my life have come as a teacher and I'm thankful for it, but the landscape has changed. Your kids deserve better.

WOW, as an employee of 11 yrs. at PPS, I applaud you for telling it like it is. Parents should listen to what you are saying. With Gates, Broad, A+'s involvement during the past few years...you are right on!
Public Schools are doomed...bring on vouchers. Get the competition going!

Uh, was your final thought a joke?

Hope so, since Broad/Gates and edu reform in general have encouraged and spurred the growth of charters and vouchers.

The horrors have been brought to you by the same people who are pushing vouchers.
