This piece should be MANDATORY reading for Gates, Roosevelt, Tarka, and any assistant superintendents whose minds are so immersed in testing results.
I have to salute this woman for having the gumption to say she was wrong.
But what does it matter? The district sold their soul for $40 million and there's no tunring back now.
I can tell you there are many kids I know who joke about how much they are tested and they do not take it seriously. If they get tired through the 4sights or PSSA they just fill in circles. If the teacher effectiveness initiative includes additional testing to judge a teacher's effectiveness it will come down to how much the kids care about the teacher.
We just have to pray that the Schenley building continues to be owned by the district until the board, or replacement board, comes to its senses.
Wow, how incoherent can you possibly be?
