I'm just sayin',

I hope that you are not blaming teachers for the "blame everyone else for my failures" climate!? It was administration, not the teachers, that asked the students to 'boo' the teachers who 'failed them.' Administration and Union Leadership have created this negative, blame everyone else climate. Now, the anger is escalating to violence. Shame on Lane for allowing this to happen. I hope that she takes steps to truly discipline the players involved in the act of beating up the coach. If not, we need to demand that she step down!!!

We need leadership that teaches those who fail to look inward and reflect upon their behavior and actions to make changes to succeed. The administration, board, and students need to be RISEN. LOL!

The players are off the team and suspended. They should be expelled for this type of behavior, I hope that coach files charges.

This incident should have it own post, this happened

Wasn't it Langley that was so low on players before the season began that one of the daily papers featured a story on it? Gee, at the time it sounded like the seed of an idea for a made-for-tv movie, rah-rah and all that, and now...

Good thing Chief Fadzen is on administrative leave. This way they can avoid reporting the data on the safe schools report as though the assault never happened.

Think it's not going to happen? Think again. When Dr. Lane was chief operations officer of her school district in Iowa they were called on the carpet for this very subject.

On another post someone suggested that the players involved be expelled.

Old Timer responded: "Expelled? You mean transferred to another PPS school, right."

Let me add my two cents.

One of the many dirty secrets in the PPS is that "expelled" almost always means "transferred to another PPS school."

So when the public reads in the paper that the PPS has "expelled" a student, they are being deliberately mislead.

PPS administration wants everyone to think that they are taking bold action against criminal behavior, action to punish the guilty and protect the innocent.

All lies. I recall one particular student who was "expelled" from his high school for assaulting a student.

He was merely sent to a second PPS high school, were he was caught stealing.

Can you guess what happened next? He was "expelled" to a third PPS high school.

He viciously attacked a student in the hallway at that third high school, within a week of his being sent there. Why? He said it was because the victim looked at him funny. I witnessed that assault.

Is there any wonder why people are fleeing this city?

They are very good at keeping stuff like this out of the media.

Spoke to the Coach, this did not happen! Two players were put off the team for using profanity towards coaches. Posts like this should not be posted without verification.

It would be nice if there was something like a parent hotline that could answer questions and provide verification. Until then we have to hash it out online.

I was also at this game and this event NEVER occured. I agree with the other "Anonymous" post that accusations like this should be verified before being posted.

The Cover Up has already begun, there's the spin already

LOL to Anon 6:26 --

How exactly do you propose that that happen? YOU are posting anonymously, too, so how do we know what did and didn't happen and what motives you or the original poster had.

One refutation mentions that two players have been kicked off the team for "using profanity" -- did you see this? Were they yelling at a coach in a threatening way after the game? Obviously a huge difference between a verbal and physical assault, but I'd argue that even the verbal barrage indicates a breakdown in team structure.

Just sayin' not at ALL blaming teachers--sorry for the "we" but as a CITY--parents, taxpayers are allowing our ADMINISTRATORS to teach our kids that teachers, coaches etc are not to be respected -- that if you dont do well at something you the student have a right to blame the the teachers and coaches. On what plantet- and in what time period-- does a society allow teachers, coaches etc, to be ridiculed because students cannot master something at this time??
How do you repair that- and encourage our students to learn from the people being paid to teach them-- this is a sad state of affairs--

seen it all-- is correct. And if a student is just suspended for an offense-- say a 10 day suspension, the student magically appears at another school- a deal is cut-- without ever serving the suspension. Of course this causes the student to have little regard for the process or the lesson that when you do soemthing really dangerous- you are put out of school.
Seen it all is correct-- stick around and you will see it too!

It hapenned after the game. It could have been in the locker room or the team bus. We need more information, just because some one did not see it, dose not mean it did not happen, could or happened back at Langley, we need info.

Can anyone answer a question about the "explelled and transferred to another PPS" kids? Are there dropout statistics on those kids? It would seem to follow that the kids attending a school farther away from home would attend less. The consequences for many offenses don't seem to deter much.

Just want to add some further evidence of PPS deceptions. A young lady punched a teacher in the face as he was trying to break up a fight. She was "expelled" from the school and ended up at another school where within two weeks she was sent to the principals office for misbehaving. The principal sent the student back to the classroom where she attacked the teacher, knocked her on the floor, picked up an overhead projector and attempted to smash it on the teacher's head. Thank God the teacher was quick enough to get out of the away and trip the student up. The girl got THREE DAYS of suspension.
