Additional information from Preservation Pennsylvania:

In the case of Schenley we are not so concerned about demolition as the loss of its use as an historic school. We feel Schenley is extremely important to the history of how schools developed in Pennsylvania and the loss of any historic school as a school is a concern to us. Historic schools and smart school siting of new schools are key issues for Preservation Pennsylvania.
