PURE Reform has created this blog as a forum for parents, teachers and community members to share information and voice concerns regrading the reform process in the Pittsburgh Public Schools. Although we would like to foster constructive dialogue, PURE Reform does not edit content. The views expressed by bloggers in this forum are not necessarily views held by PURE Reform.

As soon as later start times are accepted the next group of vocal parents will emerge shouting about the practices and games and events after school. Might be harder to get coaches too. The talk will turn from sleep deprivation to poor nutrition due to an extended day for high schoolers. There will always be issues. Moving away from PAT in any great volume will take passes from kids who need to get to jobs or home from evening games without an activity bus. Are the kids and parents most in need of transportation the voices we are hearing from most?

Sure you can wake high school students with cold water, but what kind of a day will these sleep deprived students have?
It just shows out of touch and uneducated our school board is.
Got that right.
Nuts.
