Try to spell achievement properly if you wish to be taken seriously. On one hand, FDR could rise from the grave and still need at least 8 years to dig this country out from all of the hardships that the Bush administration placed upon us. The worst---ever. I laugh out loud when someone talks about spending. Why not tell it like it is. Bush took a few hundred billion in surplus and turned it into a few hundred trillion in deficit. We were at the brink of collapse and may still be. What would you have the president do, anyway? Do you read or get your information from people at the bus stop? That said, no one within the Bush administration and neither of the last two remaining presidential candidates were friends of public education. There was no choice in this regard. Obama made a lot of promises, broke most, but has made good on the gradual dismantling of public education and the scapegoating of teachers. What took place in D.C. and Boston this summer...and what will likely take place here...has his approval, no doubt. An empty suit if there ever was one. Anyone see a political savior on the horizon? Certainly not trailer trash from Alaska.
How PFT brethren who voted for the last contract...how funny is it that Allegheny Valley teachers, a union made up of 95 teachers...have the courage to strike over a paltry 3% raise proposal and you didn't? You approved this schlock, including RISE. How do you sleep? Gutless wonders.
That word achievement was meant as a misspelt word. This is not about Bush or Obama. Obama considers this an aspired goal on his lapel. This about teachers and teaching and about Race to the Top money and placing money as a band aide for societal ills just through education.
If Bush caused the implementation of the Race to the Top =this would have been a war against teachers and breaking teacher unions.
Obama makes it as a great educational package deal-a great junket for non-educators to invest their careers in educational incentives that lack educational degrees and extensive experiences in the urban classroom.
A great sppech for our lods-which is my sincere opinion.
Anon at 5:11, perhaps you wish to join Karl Rove in an effort to revise history and put a smiley face on the rape of a nation as perpetrated by Bush and Cheney. It's not flying here. I don't see any hope on the political horizon, just as I see no hope in school administration. Your sincere opinion is something I could get off of the men's room wall.

You are very ignorant, rude and need to revise your men’s room fallacies and argue with some dignity and class. I never thought I would have to write this on this blog as an entry to anothre blogger.
I am a registered Democrat and voted for Obama-my opinion is only a view-nothing to utilize with men’s room walls. And not to get that nasty over it.
Try the ladies room as my husband stated to me-as his answer to you.
I beleive you can use better analaogies with some class.
And, yes one can use humor with classand with dignity.
Again, this horrendous NCLB policy was conceived in Clinton's adm., passed within the first year of Bush's adm, and put on steroids during Obama's adm. Who cares! As long as the liberally runned Department of Education is given creedance and allow to dictate policies, then we will continue to be at the bottom. Race to the top .....what a joke!!!!!
This is all Obama's mess now ....can't continue to blame Bush. If Obama did have b@!!$, he'd put NCLB to rest, six feet under. He would do the same to the Unions, but he won't because he needs them.
This out-of-control merry-go-round will only spin faster until the break is pulled.

1. Why can't I continue to place blame where it is due? Are you hoping it will all just go away and people will forget? 2. Agreed about Obama and NCLB. Pity that McCain was as anti-teacher as Obama. 3. Unions? Are you saying the PFT is a union more than just in name? Are you joking?

Because fascists think alike.
